Last year, the Oklahoman reported that Kevin Durant purchased two townhomes in downtown Oklahoma City and put his Gaillardia home on the market.
Our building permit records confirm the OKC Thunder star paid around $400,000 to combine the two units into one, 7,400 square foot home. Additional permits reveal a flurry of remodeling activity from July 8, 2013 through July 24, 2013, including the installation of a residential elevator to the home – but complete silence ever since. See the full permit records for Durant’s home on BuildZoom.

The lack of activity might be telling: is the humble superstar being financially prudent or is he simply checked out and ready to leave Oklahoma City?
For the sake of comparison, we took a look at the remodeling activity on LeBron’s Ohio estate.

The permit records reveal construction of a 6,480 square foot accessory building, reported to be a garage by Cleveland.com earlier this year. This seems to be more inline with an athlete who is planning to stick around for a while.
Does the fact that KD’s home is only about 1,000 square feet larger than LeBron’s garage a signal that he has one foot out the door?
