In March 2014, Wayfair.com announced that it would expand its office at Copley Place, where it would relocate its corporate HQ, from the planned 105,000 sf to a whopping 275,000 sf. Wayfair’s growth in the period of time since the initial plan necessitated the office expansion.
[threecol_two]The initial phases of interior renovation, according to building permits from the city of Boston, cost around $7 million. A new permit flagged by BuildZoom shows that phase III of the remodel is underway, to the tune of $10 million.
The permit calls for demolition and remodeling on 8 separate floors of the Copley Place office towers, including new internal staircases, glass office doors and walls, reconfigured walls, and renovated acoustical ceilings. The price tag also covers the guts: fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, telephone and data wiring.
