Michael Simkins, a well-known Miami investor and real estate developer, is the wallet behind a stunning new beachfront property. Unlike his downtown high-rise projects, this property appears to be for himself. Permits value the new construction at $2.125 million, which is a significant amount of money for construction alone.
Ocean Drive Magazine named Simkins and his wife Nicole one of Miami’s most influential power couples. Simkins’ Lion Associates conglomerate has recently been buying up tracts of land in Miami, reportedly for condo development.
[threecol_two]Located on Pine Tree Drive, Simkins’ new home is packed in among Miami Beach’s most exclusive residences, facing the Atlantic. Permits indicate that a stunning $10 million villa, last purchased (presumably by Simkins) in 2012 for $4.9 million, was demolished to make way for the new structure. Architect Thomas Farrimond Weber (of the Weber Studio) is designing the replacement, which should qualify for LEED status.
